Content Strategy: Why your business needs it and how to get the best results

By October 23, 2017September 8th, 2022No Comments

Content strategy is a key part of any online business or brand’s success. Today I want to talk about what it is for those of you who don’t know and how you can use it to get the best results for your brand.

Content Strategy – What is it?

The term “content strategy” refers to how you use content to promote your business and brand online. This content refers to news updates, articles, blog posts, and any other informative material you can offer potential and existing clients.

The content you provide online is representative of your brand and regular release and updating of that content shows potential clients that you are evolving as a business. A failure to provide regularly released and updated content portrays a stagnant business that has little progress to speak of and that is unable to keep up with “the competition”.

How Can Content Strategy Get You the Best Results?

There are multiple aspects of content strategy that need to be coordinated for your online success.

Plan Content

The content that you provide online through your website and social media needs to be more than “relevant”. Possible customers can find “relevant” content anywhere, so you need to plan your content to be relevant as well as easily reachable. What does this mean? It means that rather than target general information and topics, you need to plan your content around information that is relevant but facing less competition from competing brands. This is where your online presence manager comes in. Not only do they have the tools to research relevant keywords that will get you traffic, but they also know how to use those keywords.

Create Content

The creation of content is the next step in content strategy. This means taking the keywords researched when planning your content and using them optimally in content that is appealing. Sure, you can target keywords but without using those words in understandable and interesting content, your readers are going to lose interest. An online presence manager has experience in seamlessly integrating keywords into content that appeals to your clients.

Deliver and Promote Content

Once you have written your content, you need to deliver it to your audience. Far too many small business owners believe that “if I write it, it will come”, but this simply isn’t true. Your content needs to be delivered as well as promoted to the right audience. An online presence manager has the resources and tools available to get this done.

Update and Maintain Content

Lastly, content should be regularly updated and maintained. As information changes or advances are made, it’s important to update your content to reflect those changes. An online presence manager will incorporate updates and maintenance into your content strategy to keep things up to date.
