Privacy Policy for Reality Bender

App Information

Information the App Accesses

Reality Bender may access the following data or device features only to provide its core camera, AR, capture, and gallery features:

• Camera preview for live AR effects and photo/video capture.
• Microphone audio while the user records a video.
• Photos created by the app.
• Videos created by the app.
• Media gallery access for saving and previewing captured content.
• Motion and sensor information needed for AR camera functionality.
• Local app preferences, such as whether the first-run tutorial has already been shown.

Information the App Does Not Intentionally Collect

Reality Bender does not intentionally collect:

• Name, email address, phone number, home address, or other contact information.
• Account login information or passwords.
• Payment information.
• Precise or approximate location.
• Contacts, SMS, call logs, or calendar data.
• Health, fitness, financial, or government identification information.
• Browsing history.
• Advertising ID.
• Persistent device identifiers such as IMEI, IMSI, or SIM serial number.

Camera Use

Reality Bender uses the device camera to show a live augmented reality camera preview. Camera access is required so users can apply visual distortion effects, draw annotations, add text, take photos, and record videos.

The live camera preview is processed on the device. Reality Bender does not intentionally transmit the live camera feed to a developer-owned server. A photo is saved only when the user taps the photo capture button. A video is saved only when the user starts and stops video recording.

Microphone Use

Reality Bender requests microphone access so recorded videos can include sound.

Microphone access is used only for video recording. The app does not record audio in the background, does not listen when video recording is not active, and does not intentionally upload audio to a developer-owned server.

Photos, Videos, and Gallery Access

Reality Bender saves captured photos and recorded videos to the user's device gallery. Photos may be saved in the Pictures area of the device. Videos may be saved in the Movies area of the device. Saved media may appear in a folder named RealityBender.

The app may show a small thumbnail of the latest captured photo or video on the camera screen. When the user taps this thumbnail, Reality Bender opens the selected photo or video using the device's gallery or media viewer app.

Reality Bender does not sell, rent, or intentionally share the user's photos or videos. If the user shares media through another app, such as a gallery app, messaging app, email app, or social media app, that sharing is controlled by the user and the selected third-party app.

Annotations, Text, and Effects

Reality Bender lets users draw annotations, add text, and apply visual distortion effects to the camera view.

These effects and annotations are processed locally on the device. They become part of a saved photo or video only when the user chooses to capture or record media.

First-Run Tutorial

Reality Bender may show a tutorial the first time the app is opened. The app stores a small local preference on the device to remember that the tutorial has already been shown.

This preference is stored locally and is not intentionally uploaded to a developer-owned server.

Permissions Used by the App

Reality Bender may request the following Android permissions:

If a user denies required permissions, some or all features of the app may not work correctly.

Third-Party Services and SDKs

Reality Bender uses Google Play Services for AR / ARCore to provide augmented reality functionality.

Google Play Services for AR is provided by Google and may process device, diagnostic, AR compatibility, or service-related information according to Google's own privacy practices and the user's Google/device settings.

Reality Bender does not currently include advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, social login SDKs, payment SDKs, or cloud storage SDKs.

Internet and Server Use

Reality Bender does not currently declare the Android INTERNET permission in the app manifest. The app is designed to operate locally on the device.

Reality Bender does not intentionally upload user-created photos, videos, audio, annotations, or camera content to a developer-owned server.

Data Sharing

Reality Bender does not intentionally share personal or sensitive user data with third parties.

User media may be shared only if the user chooses to share it through another app or service outside Reality Bender. In that case, the selected app or service is responsible for its own privacy practices.

Data Retention

Photos and videos are stored on the user's device until the user deletes them.

Local app preferences, such as tutorial completion, remain on the device until the user clears app data or uninstalls the app.

Reality Bender does not maintain a developer-owned user account database and does not store user media on a developer-owned server.

Data Deletion

Users can delete Reality Bender data in the following ways:

• Delete saved photos and videos from the device gallery or file manager.
• Clear Reality Bender app data from Android system settings.
• Uninstall Reality Bender from the device.

Because Reality Bender does not currently create user accounts or store user data on developer-owned servers, there is no server-side account deletion process.

Security

Reality Bender is designed to keep camera processing, effects, annotations, photos, videos, audio, and tutorial preferences on the user's device.

Users should protect their device with standard security practices such as screen locks, system updates, and careful control over which apps can access or share saved media.

Children and Age Suitability

Reality Bender is intended for a general audience. The app is not specifically directed to children under 13.

Reality Bender does not require account registration, does not include ads, does not include social features, does not include public sharing, and does not intentionally collect personal information from children.

The app uses camera, microphone, AR camera functionality, and device gallery access to provide its core photo and video features. Because these are sensitive device features, children should use the app only with permission and supervision from a parent or guardian.

If Reality Bender is made available to children under 13 or if the developer selects a child audience in Google Play Console, the developer is responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable children's privacy laws and Google Play Families policies.

User Choices

Users can:

• Grant or deny permissions through Android system settings.
• Stop using video recording if they do not want microphone audio saved.
• Delete saved media from the device gallery.
• Clear app data to reset local preferences.
• Uninstall the app at any time.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when Reality Bender changes, including if new features, permissions, analytics, ads, cloud services, account features, or sharing features are added.

When changes are made, the effective date at the top of this policy will be updated.
